Woodards Prepares For Challenge
Having made his move to Crewe Alexandra back in January, defender Danny Woodards is well into his first pre-season with the club.
Woodards, who joined Crewe from Exeter and has recently been followed by his former team-mate at the Cornwall based club Billy Jones, finished last season with a thigh strain but is now back taking part with close-season training with his team-mates pushing on for his place back in the side when the season arrives.
Woodards says: "Pre-season is going well so far, we're doing 3 days a week at the moment just a few weights and a bit of running. The weather is nice so you're able to enjoy it a bit more.
"I'm a little bit away from being fit at the moment, I just hope to work hard and push on and I will be fit for the start of the season."
With Danny O'Donnell due to sign a contract in the next couple of days, and further defenders joining the club in recent weeks it has been a busy close season but the competition for his place is not something that phases Danny and his return.
Danny admits: "I enjoy the challenge for places, you just have to try to win that place and play as hard as you can, make the most of it.
"All the lads are the same really, you just have to play to the best of your ability."
