20 year old striker who over the past few seasons has become one of the most talked about young footballers in the country after emerging from the clubs Academy set up.

Ashton made his Alex debut as a raw 16-year-old away at Gillingham in October 2000, becoming the clubs third youngest player in history in the process, and scored his first goal the following February in a 4-2 thrashing of Burnley. He went on to score a total of eight times in just 13 starts that season.

The following year Ashton added another ten goals in 31 appearances and forced his way into the England Under-17 squad as well as becoming a regular member of Dario's side up front.

Over the past two seasons Ashton has continued his progress in the Second and now First Division and last season scored an impressive 20 goals in all competitions, the best ever by an Alex player in Division One / the Championship. He has also worked his way up the England ladder playing at Under-19 and Under-20 level before winning his first Under-21 cap last term against Holland, a game in which he scored the opening goal.

A tall, athletic young striker with a superb touch, the Swindon born player has a bright future ahead of him if he continues to progress at the current rate.
