24 year old defender who is another First Team regular to have emerged from the clubs Academy set up having turned professional in 1998.

The Warrington born player is a former England Schoolboy International and made his debut at senior level the following season coming on as a substitute against Bury in a 1-0 defeat at Gigg Lane and also featured in a League Cup draw against Bristol City later that year. The following season he didn't make any First Team appearances but by 2000/01 he was beginning to become a regular in Dario Gradi's side.

Having establishing himself in central defence over the past few seasons 'Foz' has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the Alex and has become one of the clubs most consistent and impressive performers.

In the 2003/04 season he missed just one game and was a lynch pin in defence alongside several different central defensive partners. His efforts during the were rewarded at the end of the campaign when he collected the 'Players Player of the Year' award voted for by his fellow professionals at the club.

Foster again proved to be the Alex's most dependable defender last term, but missed the end-of-season run-in after undergoing a slight operation on his knee. That operation probably affected his chances of being snapped up by a Premiership club in the summer, but now fully fit, his performances will be closely monitored by the scouts again this term.
