31 year old central midfielder who returned to the club in July 1999 on a free transfer having spent seven years playing with Cheshire rivals Macclesfield Town.

Sorvel was originally a product of the Alex's youth set up, but left Gresty Road in 1993 for the Moss Rose having only made 9 appearances in the first team.

After dropping into the non-league game with Macclesfield, Sorvel was an integral part of the Silkmen side which won the GM Vauxhall Conference in 1994/95 before eventually winning promotion to the Football League two seasons later. He then helped Macclesfield to promotion to the Second Division at the first attempt the following year.

However, despite his release, Dario Gradi had kept an eye his former player as he improved his game at the lower level, and swooped to sign the Widnes born player in 1999.

He made his return to Crewe by playing against Crystal Palace in a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park the following season and over the past few years has become a consistent and reliable member of the Alex midfield.

Sorvs was a key player as the Alex won promotion back into the First Division in 2002/03 and produced another solid year last term despite one or two injuries. He is one of the 'unsung hero's' in Crewe's squad with and has now made over 200 appearances at the club.
