Nick Powell
Born: Crewe, 23/03/1994
Nick is a popular one here at the Alexandra Stadium and one that is expected to achieve great things in the future.
A midfielder, who can also play as a striker, is currently a member of our under 18's side having signed his scholarship forms in the summer of 2010 after progressing through the ranks since he was a small boy.
Is a super talent that was involved in under 18 football when he was just 15, and had his first taste of first team football aged 16 when coming on as a substitute in a pre-season game against Premiership outfit Blackpool in July 2010. A regular with the reserve side as well as the youth side, Nick was called upon for a place on the bench for the first two games of the 2010/11 season and would be a regular on the bench for much of the season.
A keen eye for a goal, his youth coaches know there is no limit to where Nick's talent can take him. Also a regular for the England youth side Nick has featured for the England under 16's and 17's and was part of the England under 16's side that won the Victory Shield in 2009/10 season.
Made his first team debut on 14th August 2010 away to Cheltenham Town and would make a series of further substitute appearances. He was a member of the England Under 17 side that challenged for the 2011 World Cup in Mexico and came back to start the 2010/11 season in the Alex side, before a red card in a defeat at Shrewsbury Town.
He would bounce-back from that red card and score six his first senior goal at AFC Wimbledon, and net further strikes against the likes of Morecambe, Oldham, Hereford and Bristol Rovers as he continued to impress.
