Dan Shelley
Born: Stoke-on-Trent, 29/12/1990
Joined the club as a 14-year-old and after impressing with the club's youth team during the 2008/2009 season was promoted to the first-team over the Christmas period. He marked his first team debut away to Hartlepool in December 2008 just before his 18th birthday and followed that up with a wonderfully struck free-kick against Millwall in the FA Cup the following week.
Further involvement was hindered when he picked up an injury, and then fell out of favour, but the youngster kept his head down and continued to work hard and he had a good run in the side as 2009 drew to a close. The later stages of the season were quite bit part for the youngster but he ended the 09/10 season back involved with the side after continuing to prove his worth.
Shelley would feature on an even more regular basis during the 2010/11 season scoring six times in his 26 appearances, including several of his trademark long range free-kicks. Shelley's performances saw him rewarded with a contract extension until the summer of 2012.
