Simon has joined the club on loan from Premiership outfit Reading where he has been since he was 14. Although he has never made a first team appearance for The Royals since signing professional in July 2007 he did find himself on the substitute's bench for the Carling Cup tie with Swansea earlier this season.
A regular for the Reading reserves and recently made an appearance for Wales Under 21's, the tall striker is one who has a keen eye for goal and made his Crewe debut the day after signing on loan against Luton Town where he impressed staff and supporters alike with his play and his assist in Ryan Lowe's goals during the game. Scored his first goal for Crewe away at Cheltenham just two games into his loan spell.
