French central defender who arrived at the Alex in June 2006 on a Bosman style free transfer having rejected a contract at Notts County. Baudet began his career in France with Ligue Un side Toulouse, having chosen to become a footballer having excelled as a skier in his youth.

The 6ft 3ins player, who can also operate in midfield, was set for a move to Crystal Palace in 2001, but instead decided to make the switch to Oldham Athletic for whom he made 54 appearances during his two-year stay.

A switch to Rotherham United followed in 2003, but the move to Millmoor proved to be a difficult one as he made just 12 senior appearances before leaving for Notts County after just 12 months.

His time at Meadow Lane proved to be far more successful as Baudet was installed as captain for the Magpies, making 89 appearances in two seasons and scoring a creditable 13 goals.

The 2006/2007 season was a successful one for our towering defender who became a vital part of our back four. Forming a strong partnership with Danny O'Donnell towards the tail end of the season. Baudet featured as the club captain in the absence of Neil Cox and netted his first goal for Crewe in our 2-0 win over Carlisle.

2007/2008 proved to be just as successful as Julien picked up both the club and supporters Player of The Year award. Captaining the side once again in the absence of Neil Cox, Baudet added another goal to his Crewe tally, netting in the 2-2 draw with Swansea.

Was named club captain for the 2008/09 season.

At the end of the 2008/2009 season, Julien elected to accept a move to Colorado Rapids, playing in the MLS in the USA, and he will join up with his new club in July 2009.
