Versatile defender who rejoined the club in the summer of 2007 after a year at our North West rivals Tranmere Rovers. Chris is a former Academy player and he can operate anywhere across the back four, which is what attracted us to bring him back to Gresty Road.
The Chester born player's first team debut for the club arrived back in 2001 when he was a substitute against Millwall at the New Den and the following year he made a further 9 appearances in a variety of positions.
Despite having had injury problems in the past, McCready suffered only niggling injuries during the 2007/2008 season making a total of 37 appearances and captaining the side on a number of occasions. Despite not scoring his first senior goal until 2006, McCready made up for that by scoring two for Crewe last season.
