Dagenham came out of hibernation to Crewe with strikes from Josh Scott and Danny Green.

Scott said: "Let's hope our little blip is over now. I don't get too many headers so it was great so score that one."

Alex boss Dario Gradi said: "I thought we had most of the game, I'm disappointed but not devastated, we're not out of the race."

Dario Gradi has challenged his side to improve defensively after they slipped to a 12th league defeat of the season.

Dagenham were sparked into life by Josh Scott as they played their first game in nearly a month. Crewe were in control in the early stages before Scott reacted superbly to head in a cross from Danny Green.

Green added a second goal for Dagenham, who stayed in control thanks to three fine saves from Tony Roberts.
