Calvin Zola faces a spell on the sidelines after being stretchered off during the draw with Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium, whilst Paul Trollope, the Rovers Manager, was frustrated with his side's finishing. "I'm disappointed we didn't win the game" he said.

Crewe keeper Steve Collis also hailed his opposite number. Alex defender Danny O'Donnell was relieved he played the full 90 minutes as the centre-back feared he would see red when he tugged Darryl Duffy's shirt in the first half.

Crewe boss Steve Holland played down fears star striker Calvin Zola suffered a broken leg after watching his side claim their first away point of the season. Holland said: "With luck it will only prove to be a soft tissue injury."

But substitute Anthony Elding was twice denied by Rovers' keeper Steve Phillips.
