Crewe Could Go With Attacking Bench

Posted on: Fri 27 Jan 2012

With AJ Leitch-Smith and Shaun Miller free from slight injuries and back in contention, Steve Davis has not rule out picking a very attack-minded bench for tomorrow's trip to Barnet. With Crewe Alexandra enjoying three straight wins against Plymouth, Oxford United and Dagenham and Redbridge, the Alex boss is not going to alter his team too much but with everyone fit apart from the experienced midfielder Lee Bell, he can name a strong squad.

Loanee striker Greg Pearson is set to retain his place after scoring two goals in his first two games for the club and with Nick Powell at his influential best, Davis has a lot of firepower at his disposal.

Davis explained to the club's official web-site: "There is a possibility that we could have three striker on the bench on Saturday. I am not totally against it because it does give you options if you need a goal or are chasing a game.

"We could go with an attacking bench but we will see. I am not against changing the forwards even if we are winning a game, but it is a nice position to be in."
