Dario Gradi had told the club's official web-site that his players have been brimming with confidence this week after some encouraging performances and results against Barnet, Ipswich (in the Carling Cup) and Lincoln City last weekend. Crewe have picked up four points out of six and Dario is targeting another positive result on his first ever visit to Stevenage as manager.

Crewe will be looking to move into the top half of the table and although the Alex boss has been relatively pleased with the last few performances he is still looking for more.

Dario told crewealex.net: "We have had a good week and the players have been excellent in training. They all looked like really good players and were full of confidence. It is just a question of them taking that out on to the pitch.

"It is about having that right mental attitude and belief to transform it into the matches and getting that into the players minds. Some have been born with confidence and others have to develop it.

"Take Lee Bell is very confident and that is probably because he has the experience of being there and doing it. He knows he is capable of doing it at a decent level and sometimes it isn't until you have done it that you go develop it further.

"Some younger players will make more nervous decisions than others out on the pitch and that is something we are trying to overcome with the work we do."

Dario is now hoping that the confidence gained by taking Ipswich into extra-time and two decent results in the league will start to propel his team up the npower League Two table.

"We have got two decent results with four points out of six but we know that if we want to be doing something this season then we need to win games and go on a run, ' says Dario.
