Dario Gradi says he may wait for the loan market to reopen again after the seven-day break before he looks to bring someone else in. The Alex boss is after a full-back as cover for the injured Matt Tootle (hamstring) but was pleased with the way the versatile Mat Mitchel-King has adapted to the right-back spot and now could wait.
Dario expects the rest of the deadline day to be fairly quiet with no ins or outs occurring at Gresty Road.
Dario told crewealex.net: "I don't expect there to be anything going on today. I am quite happy with what I've got, although we could do with some cover at full-back. Matt Tootle has been running and Mat Mitchel-King didn't let us down on Saturday, so we'll see.
"The loan market opens again after a seven-day period and that is the avenue we would go down if we need too. We have exhausted all the possibilities of buying one.
"I am happy with the squad. We have a number of players and we will see where we are at Christmas and what we need.
"I don't really have the luxury of going out and getting exactly what we need, so sometimes you have to use the players you have. Mat has come in at full-back and although he doesn't get forward like Tootle, he is a good footballer and adds height for the set-plays."
