Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi is in talks with Chelsea's reserve team coach about the possibility of extending Rhys Taylor's loan agreement with the club. Dario wants to keep the Wales Under-21 goalkeeper beyond the current deal that expires on 8th September.
Dario has been pleased with the 20-year-old goalkeeper who was bought in as cover for Steve Phillips, who had undergo a double shoulder injury towards the end of last season.
The Alex boss told crewealex.net: "We are looking at the possibility of extending Rhys' loan with us and I have spoken to Steve Holland who is conducting affairs at Chelsea over this.
"We are happy with him, they are happy with him and the lad is happy to stay. I think he has enjoyed playing some games and what we do here.
"There are various ways of doing things and we will all sit around a phone and work out the best way to do things. We don't want to trap him and not be able for him to be recalled because he wouldn't want to see on our bench.
"We would like to extend his stay with us and increase competition. We have three decent goalkeepers here and if a good young goalkeeper becomes available like Rhys and we have the possibility of doing something then we should."
