Still Unsure About How Good We Can Be

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

Dario Gradi has told the club's official web-site that he is aiming to turn promising performances into league points with another good result at Sincil Bank tomorrow. The Alex got their season up and running with a emphatic 7-0 win over Barnet last weekend and followed that up with a spirited performance against Championship side Ipswich Town on Tuesday evening.

The Tractor Boys led by Roy Keane needed extra-time to end our hopes of landing a lucrative tie in Round Three of the Carling Cup and Dario has told us that the plaudits were nice but he wanted more.

Dario told the club's official web-site: "It is all well and good having good performances but we want points. It was a good performance against Ipswich but we didn't score a goal and that was disappointing because if we had done, then we would have had a good chance of getting through.

"It would have been an excellent performance if we had scored and gone through, so there will be no-one here getting carried away with things.

"After losing to Hereford and Cheltenham by the odd goal, we then won 7-0 against Barnet, so I am still not sure about what season we are going to have. The good thing about the Barnet game is that we showed we could score goals. It is always a fantastic achievement to score 7 goals in a game.

"I am still not sure yet about how good this team can be. It is still early days but if we also consider the pre-season then we do look harder to beat than we did.

"I don't think we can read too much into things until you have played 10 league games and the table begins to take shape."
