Calvin Zola will not be risked for tomorrow's home game with Barnet after failing to overcome a knee injury sustained in training. The club's leading goalscorer last season suffered the injury after taking a ball down on his foot during a training session earlier this week - but the injury is not as bad as first feared. The club remain hopeful that the Congolese striker may be fit to face Ipswich in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night.
Zola, who opened his account his account for the season with a header against Cheltenham last weekend, won't be risked by Dario Gradi.
The boss told us: "We are not going to risk Calvin because he hasn't trained this week and isn't 100% fit. I don't want to be using half fit players and go through fitness tests on a Saturday morning.
"If he doesn't make it then it gives something else a chance. We have a few options with our forward players here and whilst they may not win as many flick ons as Zola they have other attributes.
"It is not as bad as first feared with Zola and we hope he could be ready for us on Tuesday night."
