Crewe Alexandra Football Club has confirmed the signing of youngster Lewis Short on a 12-month deal. Short has been offered a permanent deal after impressing during pre-season and in training.
The former Congleton youngster scored in the club's 8-1 win over Lancaster City in pre-season and played at left-back in a mid-week reserve fixture against Stockport County. Although predominately a winger, Short was also operated as a left-back or striker in his days with our local neighbours.
Dario Gradi stated this week that the 20-year-old that the signing of Short is a 'typical Crewe signing' after Neil Baker spotted his potential in non-league.
Short will wear the number 27 in the Crewe Alexandra first team squad.
