Newcastle are currently enjoying a fantastic season and are currently sitting top of the North West Counties Premier Division. They in fact lost their first game of the league campaign against on Bacup Borough at the weekend.
Mellor has signed until April 11th and will go straight into their squad to face Runcorn this evening. Mellor is a on a pro contract at Crewe but that deal expires in the summer. He is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club.
He can play centre-half, or at right back and has recently being used as a holding midfield player in the club's Under-18 side. Mellor also enjoyed a recent loan spell at his former club Nantwich Town.
Meanwhile, the club's former Wales Youth International Alex Titchiner has returned from a recent loan stint at Colwyn Bay. Striker Titchiner did well, scoring four goals in five appearances on loan until suffering a recent ankle injury.
