Dario Gradi has described Crewe Alexandra's lack of penetration from free-kicks as a 'complete nuisance.' Crewe were awarded over 20 free-kicks at Torquay United on Saturday but didn't make any of them count in the final third much to Gradi's obvious frustration.
The Alex boss works tirelessly out on the training ground to try and improve the free-kick delivery and although one paid off superbly well to earn us a point against Barnet recently, it is still not enough to appease the first team manager.
Dario told crewealex.net: "I don't know what is going on with the free-kicks. I know what should be happening but it isn't and it is becoming a real nuisance.
"We had over 20 free-kicks at Torquay and we were not dangerous from the majority of them. That stems from the delivery and our inability to get our head on anything as well. It should be such a dangerous asset for us but it's not.
"All we can do is continue to work on them and try and improve the delivery. I don't think we have many in the team who are going to jump and head it in so we have to look at doing things differently."
