Joel Grant is enjoying the best goal return of his career and with 11 games still to go, the former Aldershot and Watford winger must be looking to score double figures for the season. Grant scored his 8th of the campaign in the 4-2 win over Grimsby Town on Tuesday evening to end a spell of three games without a goal.
At his consistent best Grant is comfortably one of the most threatening wingers in League Two and he is beginning to bring his match winning ability to the team on a regular basis.
Grant, 22, knows there is still more to come and this season's experience of playing in a versatile attack force will serve him well going into the 2010/11.
Grant told crewealex.net: "It was nice to win at home on Tuesday night in front of the home supporters because we haven't done that enough this season. It was also important we got a result because we have dropped points we shouldn't have against Chesterfield, Lincoln and then Barnet.
"There were three games there we could have won with the chances we created and with the amount of possession we had.
"It was also nice to get a goal because I thought I was due another one to be honest.
"I've had some decent chances in recent weeks, so hopefully that will continue now and I can get on the scoresheet a few more times this season.
"I still feel that personally our attack here at Crewe is one of the best in the league and we are always going to create and score goals. We have been working to stop the opposition scoring.
Joel added: "We're creating chances all the time and we're always working on it out on the training ground. We know we still need to be more clinical and be more ruthless. It's been that way all season really, although we took our goals on Tuesday very well."
