Dario: "I Want All Three Fit Forwards Firing"

Posted on: Fri 05 Mar 2010

Dario Gradi has told that the club's official web-site that despite losing Calvin Zola through injury for tomorrow's visit of Barnet, he still has a decision to make over his forwards. Dario has persisted with the Miller/Moore partnership in recent weeks and they combined to score a late equaliser at Lincoln last week.

Dario has been relatively pleased with the young partnership but also labelled them as a bit 'lightweight' when they came up against the more experienced Chesterfield pairing of Rob Page and Ian Breckin.

The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: "The Moore/Miller partnership has worked in part. There have been parts of it that have worked successfully and others that haven't. They are a little lightweight and cannot offer too much in the air, so you do tend to play a lot more football to find them.

"The partnership may suit us better away from home and I think their performance at Burton showed their real potential together. I am not against it because they are both quick and lively and can cause problems that way.

"Byron can also play wide, he has done so in the past and that is always an option. We have done some work on that but I want all three of my fit forwards to play well enough so I cannot leave them out.

"The ones that are the most threatening and score goals are the ones that you are going to pick because that is their role in the team."
