Dario Gradi has told the club's official web-site that his Crewe Alexandra can take a lot of positives from Saturday's performance at Lincoln City despite only picking up a point. It looked like being one of those days for the Alex on the road until striker Shaun Miller popped up with a late equaliser at Sincil Bank.
A point was the very least Crewe deserved after dominating most of the possession and Dario is now looking for his team to turn that domination into wins.
Dario told the club's official web-site: "Even if we had lost the game on Saturday, I wouldn't have gone into the dressing room and shouted at the players, because I was pleased with the way we played. There was more thought to the way we attacked.
"We dominated the game and we learned a great deal from the Chesterfield game where I thought we were lethargic and lacked urgency. We had a plan against Chesterfield for the second half but didn't execute it very well.
"It was better at Lincoln and we were unlucky not to have won the game with the number of chances we created. There are still a lot of things to work on because the one thing I told the centre-halves was not to let the centre forwards get in behind them and they did without even having to try.
"It was a simple goal to concede and we will go out and reinforce that point with the defence this week. They didn't need telling after the game what they had done wrong. It was basic stuff and could have cost us a point because at 1-0, Steve Phillips made a great save to keep us in the game.
He added: "We will work on things defensively but I have also got some ideas on attacking, when a team sits back and lets us attack them."
