Crewe Alexandra are giving a short trial to Lancaster City's Jordan Connerton to see if the 19-year-old can follow the likes of Carl Martin and Danny Gardner into the Football League. Connerton is currently training with the Crewe first-team squad with a view to securing a deal with the Railwaymen.

Connerton made his debut for Lancaster at the age of 16 and has established himself as one of the most promising young players in the non-league scene. The striker has also had a spell at Kendal Town.
