Dario Gradi has told the club's official web-site that he is pleased that the Football League and Chesterfield have agreed to switch our game until Wednesday night. In the light of the cold temperatures, the club recommended a change in fixture by 24 hours to give it the best possible chance of surviving the freezing temperatures over the next couple of days.
Having assessed the upcoming forecast and possible rain showers on Wednesday, the club have been granted a late change to the delight of Dario and his players.
Dario told crewealex.net: "Everyone just wants to play and putting the fixture back by 24 hours gives us a better chance. The Football League and Chesterfield have come to a quick and sensible decision and hopefully we will have a game to look forward too.
"I've never known a winter like this. It has happened in a long-time and I've never known so many games called off over Christmas and New Year. The Football League are keen to get these games played and we don't want to keep putting them off either, so we are doing everything we can to make sure that we have the best chance of playing."
