Goals from Danny Shelley and a penalty from striker Ajay Leitch-Smith were not enough as Crewe Alexandra's 'reserve' side went down 4-2 to Birmingham City this afternoon.

 The game played behind closed-doors at Blues training ground saw Alex midfielder James Bailey complete 90 minutes. The midfielder suffered no reaction to his recent abductor muscle problem.

Clayton Donaldson and trialist Danny Gardner also featured for the Railwaymen in this reserve friendly.
