Not The End Of Signings
Gudjon Thordarson has told the club's official web-site that he still hopes to add two or three new players to his squad this summer. Thordarson is expected to add the former Histon captain Mat Mitchel-King to his ranks this afternoon after he agreed personal terms with the club over the weekend. The former Histon captain is set to undergo a medical later today before putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal. He will join his former Histon team-mate Patrick Ada at the club after he agreed to join the club in May.
If he has his way, the potential signing of Mitchel-King will certainly not be the end of Thordarson's summer rebuilding programme after the club dramatically slimmed down the squad by realising eight players, selling Tom Pope to Rotherham and unable to convince Julien Baudet and Danny Woodards to sign new deals.
Gudjon told the club's official web-site: "I have been busy over the summer trying to find the quality we need to improve us. Some of those players have gone beyond us because of their personal terms and all you can do in that situation is walk away.
"I would like to bring in some more because I would like to strengthen. We have to sign players on a Bosman free transfer but there are other options available to me. I have one or two things up my sleeve and as we enter early July I'm sure things will happen because players will be coming back to the reality of having no wages go into the bank.
"There will be some who won't have offers there when they thought they would have and that will move things along.
He added: "I have spoken to a lot of managers about possible loan deals and that is something we will look into once their clubs decide who they are going to allow out on loan."
