Gudjon Thordarson has delayed his return to his native Iceland this week so he can attend Burnley's play-off final against Sheffield United on Bank Holiday May 25th. Thordarson will be a proud father as his son Joey Gudjonsson will be in the Burnley squad for the trip to Wembley Stadium. With the ultimate prize of a place in the Premier League up for grabs, Thordarson is hoping that Owen Coyle's side can emerge victorious from what is always a great way to earn promotion.

Gudjon told the club's official web-site: "The play-offs are always very exciting and they are always close. You will have to throw a coin to decide the winner because anything can happen on the day.

"It is a tough and cruel way to decide things. MK Dons went out on penalties. Their whole season was ended by one save and although it can be cruel it is still very exciting for the spectators and it has prolonged the season too. It is a vey exciting way to decide things and a lot of clubs are involved.

"It is always a great day at Wembley. I have experienced it with Stoke and won through the play-offs, so I know what it is about and what is required.

"It will be a proud day for me at Wembley on May 25th. I will be a proud father watching my son play and hopefully I will be there to see Joey earn promotion to the Premier League."
