Gudjon Thordarson has told the club's official web-site that he will assess his own squad of players before deciding if he will need to bring in one or two players of his own during the January transfer window.

Thordarson will be hugely disappointed that this evening's home game with Bristol Rovers has been postponed due to a frozen pitch, as it would have given him another chance to assess his players after the weekend draw with Millwall in the FA Cup.

Gudjon has not ruled out bringing in new players either on loan or a permanent basis during the January transfer window - but will give his own squad a chance to prove themselves worthy of a starting place.

Gudjon told crewealex.net: "January is a heavy month for us and there will be a lot of games. We have to prepare for the battles ahead and try and get as many points as we can.

"My priority at the moment is to assess my own squad and to see how they respond to me and how they will take themselves forward.

"It is up to the players here to show me what they can do. We have a reserve game this week and then we go to Southend before the cup replay next Tuesday.

"If the players can show the same commitment and have faith then we will have no problem with them and there were some real positives to take from a difficult game at Millwall. We conceded two soft goals from my point of view, so there is still a bit of work to do."
