Having made his first start of the season at Anfield on Tuesday night, midfielder Mark Carrington is now hoping that he has done enough to warrant his place in tomorrow's line-up at Bristol Rovers.

The 21-year-old featured for his first full 90 minutes in the Carling Cup fixture, but now with the competition for his position, is hoping he did enough to keep his shirt.

Mark says: "When the Manager told me I was starting at Liverpool, I was made up, it was a bit of a surprise though to be honest but I couldn't have had a better place to make my first start this year. All I can do now is continue to work hard and prove myself and hopefully I'll keep my place.

"I have been given my chance and now it is down to me to take it. I'm feeling good, better for having played at Liverpool and I'm ready to go again. There are some good players waiting in the wings, so hopefully I can do my best and keep my place."
