With Ben Rix suffering an injury in the reserve game with Bolton this week, Steve Holland has now confirmed that there is a second casualty from the game when George Abbey reported into training yesterday.

The defender is being treated for a thigh strain and Steve says it could keep him out of action for 10-14 days.

Steve told crewealex.net: "When you play reserve games, you obviously want your players to stay fit for when they come into the first team, but you also run the risk of injuries and on this occasion we have unfortunately picked some up.

"Ben has obviously caused some damage to his foot, but George Abbey has also picked up an injury to his thigh. He has a slight strain there and that will keep him out for about 14 days."

Meanwhile Clayton Donaldson has been missing from this week's training sessions with a knock on his knee picked up last weekend in training. However, he is expected to resume training today.
