Holland Proud To Lead Alex Out
Steve Holland says it will be a proud moment for him and his coaching staff as he takes his Crewe side to Anfield for the first time in 18 years. Crewe will be hoping to make a real game of it this evening and Holland has already suggested that his team will be trying to cause of the one of the biggest upsets in the club's history by going on to win the game.
Steve told the club's official web-site: "I'm sure it will be a proud moment for us all. It is a game we have been looking forward too, because we have had to beat two Championship sides to get to this stage. It is a great reward for the players and the supporters, who have followed us around the country.
"I've been told that there will be close to 3,000 Crewe fans making the trip and we want to go there and give a performance to make them proud.
"It is the first time that I'm taking a Crewe team to a Premiership club. Facing a club like Liverpool doesn't happen that often and it is something you will always remember. It will be a proud moment and an exciting one for everyone connected with the club.
"The most important thing is that we go there and not get too caught up with the occasion. I've told the players that it is a match like any other and we will go there and try to win."
