Steve Holland believes that the impending arrival of Clayton Donaldson from SPL side Hibs will see his side a lot better off for forwards than last season. The club's first team coach was determined not be relying on other club's players this season, especially forward players after an indifferent success rate last season with loan players. For every Lee Barnard there was a Cedric Baseya.

The first team coach admits that that may seem a strange statement to make considering that we have sold top scorer Nicky Maynard to Bristol City but Holland believes his summer arrivals now gives him the attacking options he didn't have last season.

Steve said: "With the strikers we have been able to bring in and with Tom Pope and Shaun Miller still here, I do think we are better off for forwards than we were last season.

"I know some supporters will look at that and thing how can that be when we have just sold Nicky Maynard for £2.25 million, but we didn't have Nicky for half the season anyway. That is why we had to bring in a host of loan signings and we wanted to avoid that this season. We wanted to bring in our own players and not rely on other peoples.

"We have sold Nicky for over £2 million but have spent a fair bit of that on new players and we are still looking. I do think I have a better squad than I had last season and we are certainly better equipped going forward.

"Of course, it is one thing saying that and another having them prove it. The proof will be in the pudding but I have confidence in them to come good and to score the goals we will need to have a better season."
