Brighton's Attacking Threat
Steve Holland is looking forward to testing himself against the vastly experienced Micky Adams as Crewe and Brighton go head-to-head again for the opening day of the season. Crewe ran out 2-1 winners last season, in what was Holland's first game in charge of the club. In the opposite dugout that day was Dean Wilkins, who was rather surprisingly not retained after guiding the Seagulls to 7th spot in League One last season.
Adams is now back in the Brighton hot-seat after spells at such clubs as Leicester City and Coventry City and will be looking to guide the club to another promotion as they get set for a new era in a new Stadium at Falmer.
Steve told the club's official web-site: "Micky has been there and done it during his career and we know it will be a difficult opening game. We think it will be a difficult opening game for them as well.
"I thought Dean (Wilkins) had done a good job there last season, but for whatever reason they have had a change and Micky has come back.
"Brighton have a good squad. Nicky Forster is a very experienced goal scorer at this level and in the Championship. They brought Murray in just before they played us at their place last season and paid £300,000, so they should be okay for a goal threat.
"I have always liked (Dean) Cox on the right wing. He can do something out-of-the-ordinary and they have also brought Adam Virgo back from a spell with Celtic. The game should provide a clear indication of where we are up too."
