Crewe Alexandra have decided against offering defender Fabio Ervoes a contract following a trial period. The central defender played alongside Daniel O'Donnell at Newcastle Town in our final warm-up match of the summer with Steve Holland admitting last week that bringing another defender remains one of his priorities ahead of the closure of the transfer window now on September 1st. Ervoes didn't fit the bill and will fly home today.

Fellow trialists Eddie Johnson and Jake Buxton have also been released after failing to win a contract with the club after given run-outs in pre-season games.
