Steve Morison, one of the most prolific strikers currently playing outside of the Football League has decided to remain with Stevenage Borough after his club could not agree on a transfer fee with Crewe Alexandra.
With Steve Holland currently away on holiday, Dario Gradi, the club's Technical Director submitted an offer for the London-born striker, who had originally considered moving on this summer - but our valuation did not match that of the Blue Square Conference side.
As our bid was not accepted, Crewe Alexandra were quite rightly not granted permission to discuss personal terms with the player. Stevenage Chairman, Phil Wallace, has in turn praised Crewe Alexandra Football Club, for the manner in which we have conducted our interest and of course we are disappointed that a fee was not agreed between the two clubs.
Morison, who scored 22 goals last season, has signed a new three-year deal at Stevenage and has being taken off the transfer list by manager Graham Westley.
