From an awfully chilly press box, Dario Gradi told the club's official web-site: "I thought we worked hard for a point here. There were some tired legs out there because we have some young legs out there and the likes of Michael O'Connor and Nicky Maynard have only recently come back from injuries.

"So we were flagging towards the end of the game but I thought we stuck at it and deserved something for our effort. I thought we were the better side in the first half and managed to score a really good goal. That Nicky's ability, we know he can take goals like that.

"We were playing well going into t half-time but then they got a dream start just a minute or so into the second half. I wouldn't have given a penalty for that. I thought that one was a bit below the belt. There was some contact but I thought their player just came across Billy and then just flew. I wouldn't have given a penalty for that but maybe when I see it again on the video I might think differently.

"That was a real boost to them and it lifted their crowd. We surrendered possession far too easily in the second half and gave the ball away far too cheaply but other than one Stuart had to push away when it swerved a bit infront of him, I don't think he really had another save to make.

He added: "We created the best chance to win it but I think it was one of those days for Luke (Varney) he had one of his finding it difficult to control it days and that is why we used Lee Matthews late on to see if he could get hold of it better for us up there."
