It would only take a bit of time for the Alex strikers to find their shooting boots and despite losing their top scorer from last season, Calvin Zola thanks to a twisted knee, they all helped themselves to goals this afternoon.
Crewe had been coming in for some criticism after missing a host of chances in their opening two games but today it all clicked into place as he hit seven past Barnet.
Afterwards, Dario told the club's official web-site: "What do you say to that? You don't often score seven goals. I found myself sitting there with 20 minutes to go thinking, we've got this.
"I said last year, when we were 3-1 up at Morecambe against 10 men and I could see there goals. I couldn't see any goals coming from Barnet today. They had a bit of height on us, and they were good with their corners, but they dealt with them well. I think we just caught them on a bad day.
"Some of the goals were simple. We won't score goals like that all season but I can only praise the players.
"I'm pleased with the goals, but I am really pleased that we didn't concede. The players were good at half time, and we started both halves terrific. We played well and maybe fortune smiled on us a bit today.
He added: "We have had a mixed start to the season, and we might not have made big changes over the summer but we have made those ones that seem to be counting. The players are working hard, I'm with them and they are with me and that's important we need to be together and I think we showed that today, and it is good have the supporters behind us too.
"The players were probably a bit weary after the start we have had, but they came out and they played well. We have shown we can do that twice at home now, and we have to make sure we do it all season."
