Dario: 'I Expected More Than That'

Posted on: Sat 08 May 2010

Dario Gradi admits after wanting a positive ending to the season, he is far from impressed with the result and the performance the game with Bradford brought.

A second half goal from substitute Ryan Kendall was enough to divide the two sides, but Dario admits that perhaps the players went out rather too coolly and made far too many mistakes.

Dario told us: "That was not the result or the performance that I was looking for. I was expecting much better, if that is a sign of things to come next season then we have a lot of hard work to do again. The game was littered with mistakes and if it wasn't for Adam (Legzdins) we could have lost that game four or five.

"We were making mistakes all over the place. We just weren't playing well, we had a little spurt at the end but it wasn't enough and there wasn't enough goal mouth action."

Dario can take one bright light from the game though other than the performance of Adam Legzdins, that being the debut of Harry Davis.

Dario says: "To be honest, there isn't a lot of bright lights I can take from that game. Harry did well when he came on, he didn't look too out of it, but we will have to do something and we will definately see more of Harry in the pre-season. Clayton (Donaldson) looked ok, but he doesn't transfer what he does in training. I need to see more from Bailey, Murphy and Westwood as well, performances like that will not get us promoted next year."
