After some sound defending from the Alex this afternoon, Assistant Manager Steve Davis told the club's official web-site: "I am a little bit disappointed that we haven't won the game because we defended very well and created some good chances. We dealt with them and didn't give them time and space to get the ball down and play, because we know they have dangerous players who can hurt you.
"We looked secure and the two centre-halves were very good. Everyone played well and there were hardly any errors or lapses in concentration. It was difficult to play football on the pitch, especially in the second half when the rain came down hard but we still had one or two decent chances.
"It took us a bit to settle down and get into our stride but after 10 minutes or so, we got passing the ball and started to make good decisions. We passed the ball when we had to and ran with it when we could.
"It would have topped the day off if Luke Murphy had scored with his header but he did well to get in there. Clayton hit the underside of the bar and we had one or two other chances too.
Steve added: "I had to change it slightly because Joel Grant had a groin strain and I thought after his two goals in the week, Shaun Miller might have got us a winner. It wasn't to be but I was pleased with them. I thought they were excellent and I am proud of their performance here."
