Following a 1-1 draw with Lincoln City, Dario Gradi revealed he was relieved that Shaun Miller popped up with a late equaliser. Crewe certainly deserved something for their efforts this afternoon after dominating much of the possession and creating the better of the chances over 90 minutes.
After the final whistle, Dario told crewealex.net: "It would have been very disappointing if we had not got something from the game this afternoon because I was pleased with the way the players approached the game. We had learnt from Wednesday night when we were too casual in our play.
"There was a real urgency to our attacking play and we created a number of chances and although the final ball was not good enough at times, we played well enough to get a point at the very least.
"We were hit by a sucker punch by them and I told Harry (Worley) at half-time that he had to concentrate more because he was off his game a bit. He did cost us because you cannot let strikers get in behind you like that. It was a shame but to be fair he got himself together and was better.
"We missed a lot chances and some of our shooting was not good enough. We created plenty and I was beginning to get worried as the time ticked away. In the end it was a bit of a fight for the goal. We don't mind that.
"It was a one-touch goal from Shaun and we need more of that from him. He likes to do things out of the ordinary and I have been on at him for years to simplify his play. If he played two-touch more he would be better. He got a poachers goal today and I like those close range goals from my strikers.
He added: "If Shaun wants to move up the leagues then there has to be more than just his goalscoring. That won't be enough and he has to improve his all-round play."
