After seeing his side lose 3-0 at top-of-the-table Scunthorpe United, the club's first team coach told the club's official web-site: "The overall standard of our play was good but again we haven't done enough in both penalty areas. It is my job to find a solution and quickly because we have now scored only once in the last four games and are still raining goals.

"The mistakes are still there and that is a long standing problem. We have three centre halves who could be available to us next weekend and hopefully Michael will come through okay too, who will improve us. One thing is for certain we have got to improve at both ends of the pitch because we are in the bottom four and although there is still a long way to go, we need to improve all over the field if we are to have a much better season than last season.

"I thought the first half was fairly even but then we have conceded a feable Crewe goal when Billy (Jones) gave the ball away cheaply by lobbing it aimlesly into the centre of midfield and Hayes has been allowed to cross into the box for a tap-in.

"We didn't threaten enough either, our best chance saw Tom Pope have a header tipped over the bar. It was a fantastic save just before half time. I wouldn't say it could have been a turning point because Scunthorpe put us under a lot of pressure after the hour.

"We started the second half well enough and then we started to lose concentration and gaps started to appear. They hit the woodwork twice and the second goal looked like it was coming. I don't know if it is a physical or mental thing. I know that we cannot do any more fitness wise and that is a fact, so we will have to look at their menta capabilites.

"It is my job to find that solution because are defending reasonably well, the decision making went and they looked like scoring with almost every atack. I made the substitutions and to be fair the final 20 minutes was something of a non-event."
