After a morale boosting 4-0 win over Hull City, Steve Holland was obviously delighted with the performance of his players and especially his hat-trick hero Calvin Zola - but the first-team coach is still not getting too carried away as there are no points at stake in friendly games!

That isn't to take anything away from the Railwaymen, who thoroughly deserved the victory against the Premier League new boys in our latest warm up match.

After a fine win though, Steve told us: "It is important that we do not get carried away with the result. They can be strange games in pre-season but having said that it was a hot day and we were playing against some good players in both halves, some good individuals.

"To emerge with a clean sheet and to have scored the goals that we have done won't do the players any harm.

"I think whenever you have new players, you want to get them off to a good start and settle in as quickly as possible, especially as a striker. Not just to get the hat-trick but to score the goals of the quality that he did is a great start for Calvin. It is the first goal I am more interested in than the volley because he has got a goal inside the six-yard box, which we didn't particularly notice him doing previously too often.

"We have been on at Calvin all summer about it, and obviously we won't have cracked that just yet, but it was an encouraging sign. If he ends up getting in the right places he can get that type of goal. His second goal was ability we have seen in him although to be fair, not too often, I haven't seen that too often.

He added: "Also, Steve Collis, I think the supporters will have warmed to him, not just the penalty save but he was calm and was an assured presence at the back. Joel (Grant) looked lively and looked what he is, he is going to give us something. You have to remember he has only come from Aldershot, so he is not going to set the world alight straight away but there were plenty of encouraging signs, and obviously it has been a good day."
