Crewe Alexandra Girls Centre of Excellence Under 16 duo, Hollie Kelsh and Sherry McCue will shortly complete a magnificent 2009/2010 season, which saw both girls rewarded with International call-ups.
Winger, Hollie, was recently selected in the England U15 squad for an International training camp and 'Double Header' in Holland against the Dutch U15s. Hollie played in both games and scored her first International goal in a thrilling 3-3 draw. The teams also could not be separated in the second fixture which saw Hollie feature again, this time in a 1-1 scoreline.

Also in the International limelight was dynamic midfielder, Sherry McCue. After impressing in recent U15 games against Germany, Sherry was called up for an 18 player England Under 17 squad to take part in the Elite Round of the UEFA European U17 Championships in Italy. Sherry was involved in games against Serbia, hosts Italy and Holland. Despite a great 3-1 win over Serbia in the first game and a 0-0 stalemate against Italy, defeat to Holland in the final game saw the young England squad fail to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
Centre Director Aidan Callan said: "Both girls fully deserve these international call-ups as they have shown outstanding attitude and ability during not only this season, but from the minute they joined the Centre of Excellence at the age of 10. This will hopefully show other girls within the Centre what can be achieved with hard work and dedication."
Hollie said: "I love playing for England and hope that I can go on and play for the senior team as well. I've learnt a lot since playing for Crewe, the coaches are really helping me with my development and without them I wouldn't have got this far so hopefully it can continue."
Sherry concluded: "It's such an honour to play for your country, it's something I enjoy every second of, so hopefully I can continue that. I've played for England's under 15's and under 17's now and the European Championships were such an honour and real fun, unfortunately we didn't qualify but it was a great experience."
