Three girls from Crewe Alexandra Girls Centre of Excellence have recently been rewarded with International Call-ups.
Under 16 duo, Hollie Kelsh and Sherry McCue were recently selected into the England U15 squad who travelled to Germany to take on the Germans in an International 'double header'. Although England lost both games against a powerful German team, both Hollie and Sherry were involved in the games.
Both girls obviously impressed the coaching staff as they have both been selected for the next England Training Camp, which takes place at Lilleshall in late October.
Also in the International limelight is recent signing Danielle Oates who has just represented Wales U17s in the Womens UEFA Championships in Macedonia. Danielle, who joined the Alex in the summer from Tranmere Rovers started all three games against hosts Macedonia, Belarus and England. The Welsh got off to a flyer by beating Belarus 2-0, followed up with a 1-1 draw against Belarus before losing 3-0 to England.
Centre Director Aidan Callan said, 'Congratulations to all three girls who fully deserve their call-ups. Our Centre of Excellence has a number of exciting prospects at all age groups and these recent International call-ups provide the hope that other players will soon be joining Hollie, Sherry and Danielle in the International spotlight.'
