Pebble Brook Grab World Cup Trophy
The Summer Term at the Alex Zone has come to an end, with Pebble Brook grabbing the Best Attendance record. Over the last eight weeks the children have worked hard creating all things football.
A trip to the library and the full use of its facilities was just one of the highlights of the term, followed by the visit of poet and storyteller Norman Warwick. Poems with a world cup and Crewe Alexandra theme were created in record time and role play activities filmed as the children re-enacted the "Fan in the Changing Room" story from South Africa.
Then there was the World Cup!
Not what we had hoped for for England maybe but non the less a great chance to watch some live football and write about it as it happened. Amidst all the fun there was some really hard work going on as the children prepared for their SATs, but the hot dog party made up for all the effort.
The new term kicks off at the end of September. The staff of The Alex Zone wish all the children a great summer and the bet of luck in your new schools if you move up next term.
