Crewe Alexandra's under 18 counterparts victory over Stoke City the other weekend was over-shadowed by a 5-1 defeat to Blackburn on Saturday.
The victory run was not to be continued as the Blackburn team fired in three goals before the half time break, a hat trick for Rovers Alan Judge, a penalty in the opening minutes, a stunning free kick in the final minutes and a close range shot.
We weren't without our chances though, as five minutes after the break we pulled back a goal after a superb strike from A.J Leitch Smith.
We didnt go completely without a chance, we had further chances in the opening period that the keeper did well to save, including a strike that needed to be tipped over the bar and another that was pushed around the post to avoid hitting the back of the net. Goals that could have changed the game.
Crewe defeated Blackburn 2-0 earlier on in the season, but the result was a lot different this time around as two late goals sealed Rovers victory.
Team CREWE: Jack Baker, Chris Flynn, Junior Brown, James Bailey, Russell Courtney (Ben McHugh), Tom Lappin, Gareth Evans (A J Leitch-Smith), Luke Murphy, Nick Farquharson, Amari Morgan-Smith, Chris Clements (Dexter Ravenhill)
