Crewe Alexandra's Under-14's failed to back up their opening win in the Milk Cup, as they slipped to defeat in their second group game.
Steve Holland's youngsters seemed destined for a place in the last eight of the of the Milk Cup when Ben Marshall, who had bagged a brace in the Railwaymen's opening 4-0 win over County Fermanagh, put his side in front once more in the first half against Dundalk SL.
Knowing only a point would be enough for qualification, Crewe seemed to be heading fro victory, but a fine fightback from Dundalk earned the Irishman a deserved 2-1 victory over the Alex.
Defeat meant the youngsters missed qualification for the main Milk Cup draw, but will instead play in the consolation tournament, the BT Trophy.
The Alex will face another Irish side, Cherry Orchard, in the Quarter-Finals of the BT Trophy at Castlerock this afternoon.
