18's Hopeful Their Season Can Re-Start
It isn't just the first team who have been suffering a postponements of games, as our under 18' are yet to kick start the second half of their season.
After their Christmas break, they were due to travel to Blackburn last weekend but the weather claimed the game. Instead they look forward to one of their bigger home fixtures of the season this weekend against Liverpool and hope that it can all go ahead as planned.
Luckily our academy has the advantage of still being able to train but other clubs are not so lucky, as James Collins explains: "The one thing we can be grateful for at times like this is that we can still train. There are a lot of academies and centres of excellence that have almost had to shut down, but we have good facilities here so at least we can do the work we need to.
"There have been a lot of bodies about, with the first team needing to train somewhere too, but we've managed and even trained with them, which the boys really enjoyed."
Most clubs around the country are itching to get their games back up and running and Crewe Alexandra for one, will be doing all they can to ensure that their clash with the Merseyside club goes ahead as they look to continue a good run they had going before their Christmas break.
James continues: "We are all really looking forward to the game, and the second half of the season, I know the lads certainly are. The boys are on the back of a decent run, they have won their last two league games, and drew with Arsenal so it would be nice to continue that.
"It's an important stage for the second years, but just to win the game would be nice, it would be a real lift to come back from the break against one of the biggest clubs in the country."
