The Alex under 18's finally played their FA Youth Cup fixture with Bradford this afternoon at Gresty Road, and after extra time booked themselves a place in the third round and a trip to London with a 2-1 victory.
Bradford started the game strongly and grabbed the first goal of the game, but Cheyenne Dunkley put the Alex back level. With the scores level at half time, both teams searched for that winning goal in the second 45 minutes, despite the chances though, neither side could put the ball across the line. Extra time prevailed, and in the first half, defender Harry Davis, who has had a place on the substitutes bench with the first team this season, grabbed the winning goal for Crewe Alexandra.
Bradford put up a good fight, but come the final whistle it was the Alex celebrating a place in the third round of the FA Youth Cup and a fixture with Arsenal to be played at Barnet - the fixture pencilled in for Wednesday December 16th.
